Hey Deri,

I'm not sure I agree on this one as I've found almost the exact opposite to be true. Western culture very much encourages the 'work harder'/'do more' striver type mentality and that approach definitely works in areas like sports and careers. However I've found on my journey I've needed to do the opposite. The more I pushed myself towards change, the more I've become stuck and plateaued. Actually by spending more of my attention just noticing what is going on for me and understanding/accepting that as paradoxically led to periods of growth.

This may not be true for everyone, but I suspect it is true for those that already have a strong "striver" mentality. The more time we spend "doing" the less time we have for "being"

I can certainly see that Tom. I can also see a risk of NOT noticing and falling into a lack of awareness (more often the risk for me).

In those cases the "kick" of exposure to something triggering can force me to take notice and figure out what might be going on.
